We understand that our tamariki learn differently and we as Kaiako need to be ever changing our practice to meet their needs. Within this space, we will be looking at proven practice that has had success both within our schools and in the broader educational community. KA schools are currently implementing a Structured Literacy approach to teaching literacy.
We understand that for tamariki to learn well, they need to be valued and understood. Within this space our team will be celebrating, sharing and learning more about the cultural diversity spread across our Kāhui Ako because we know if this is done well, our tamariki will thrive.
Aotearoa New Zealand is on a journey to ensure that all ākonga in our schools and kura learn how our histories have shaped our present day lives. Within this group kaiako are working alongside each other and local experts to create a seemless curriculum where tamariki can learn learn about their local history as they move through education
Wellbeing / hauora is central to the success of confident, lifelong learners. Within this space we will be connecting with agencies and changing our practice to best meet the needs of our tamariki, as well as our staff to ensure hauora / wellbeing is paramount.
